Aga Khan
Foundation

In September 2009, The Rumi Foundation hosted a dinner for the Aga Khan Foundation to create awareness for their work. The Rumi Foundation, which is a supporter of the Aga Khan Foundation, were privileged that His Highness the Aga Khan attended the dinner in person.

Established in 1967, The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) operates in over 30 countries and is dedicated to improving quality of life and fostering sustainable development in vulnerable communities worldwide. AKF’s key goals include eradicating poverty, enhancing access to quality education, and improving healthcare systems.

They emphasise early childhood development, promoting quality education by building schools, working to strengthen education systems to equip girls and boys with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to help them interact effectively with the world and be contributing members to a pluralist society.

Collaboration is central to AKF’s mission, partnering with governments, local organizations, and global institutions to foster inclusive development and self-reliance within communities by supporting community-driven programs in agriculture, microfinance, and entrepreneurship to strengthen livelihoods.

The Rumi Foundation is proud to support the Aga Khan Foundation and both foundation’s humanitarian missions align through efforts to improve lives via healthcare, economic empowerment, and education. This shared vision reinforces their dedication to fostering resilient, inclusive communities through empathy and action.
