The Jane Goodall Institute
“The greatest danger to our future is apathy”
Jane Goodall
Dr Jane Goodall was one of the world’s most admired conservationists and a pioneering primatologist whose groundbreaking research on chimpanzees transformed our understanding of humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Through her scientific work and lifelong advocacy, she became a global icon and voice for wildlife protection, environmental stewardship, and compassionate leadership.

Founded by Dr Goodall, the Jane Goodall Institute is an international organisation dedicated to community-led conservation, habitat restoration, wildlife research, and the empowerment of young people through the Roots & Shoots programme. Its work spans more than 30 countries and remains a vital force in protecting ecosystems and supporting sustainable livelihoods.

The Rumi Foundation has long championed Dr Goodall’s mission, supporting her efforts to inspire hope, mobilise youth, and promote an ethical, harmonious relationship between people, animals, and the planet we share.
