Global Institute for
Women’s Leadership
In November, The Honourable Julia Gillard hosted Secretary Hillary Clinton at the Kings College London Global Institute for Women’s Leadership.
During the event, both leaders drew on their own experiences and the latest research, acknowledging that while much progress had been made on political and legal rights, women still face multiple barriers in the workplace and at home.
Chaired by Julia Gillard, Australia’s first and only female Prime Minister to date, the Institute brings together rigorous research, practice and advocacy to better understand and address the causes of women’s underrepresentation in leadership positions, and the way gender negatively impacts the evaluation of women leaders.
The Institute undertakes a broad range of activities across sectors and countries designed to strengthen research, engagement and the delivery of evidence-based training and teaching.
The Rumi Foundation is pleased to support the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership in building on the work of pioneering female leaders, to prepare and elevate the next generation of young women to be the best that they can be.
