Migration Museum
Heart of the Nation
As the Covid-19 pandemic has of course demonstrated, the importance of the NHS has become paramount. The Rumi Foundation is proud to be the main sponsor of Heart of the Nation: Migration and the Making of the NHS which was launched in October 2020 by the Migration Museum to convey how migration is central to the fabric of the NHS and indeed of who we are in Britain today. It is important that this is recognised as such.
The Rumi Foundation has a strong belief in nurturing talent where it exists, and this key multimedia exhibition focuses on the vital role played by migrant talent in the NHS since its creation in 1948. The migrant story is communicated through oral histories and, archival material, art, animation and data visualisations.
The exhibition will move from a digital landscape to a physical exhibition in 2023 to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
