Unstoppable
Today, YUVA Unstoppable is India’s premier youth movement which has mobilised over 150,000 volunteers to benefit over 600,000 underprivileged children across 40 cities in India by providing government schools with better sanitation, improved drinking water, scholarships and digital literacy.
Nurturing initiatives that are able to inspire the world are at the heart of both charities. Committed to our focus on making change happen and promoting education, The Rumi Foundation is very proud to have recently contributed to YUVA Unstoppables’ mission to help drive the development of both marginalised families in India and the growth and improvement of students.
In the Western world, attending schools with proper hygiene facilities is something that is taken for granted; YUVA has identified poor school attendance, especially amongst young adolescent girls, due to the lack of clean sanitary facilities. Together with contributions from The Rumi Foundation, they have been able to start eliminating the stigma around female health by providing menstrual hygiene education amongst schools, ensuring that sanitation is not the reason someone misses out on their education and the opportunity to create a better future.
